Everybody Loves: Marrianne Faithfull
Marrianne had her first hit in 1966 with the Jagger/Richards penned “As Tears Go By”(the first song written by the team). A series of hits followed in the same “naive waif” style she became briefly famous for. Her relationship w/ Jagger from 1966 – 1970 halted her singing career (though she did write “Sister Morphine for the Stones), but she was to come back years later with the 1979 hit LP “Broken English”. Her voice now changed to a throaty rasp from years of cocaine and heroin abuse. Marrianne continues to sing and act. Recent LPs have found her collaborating w/ Nick Cave, PJ Harvey, Damon Albarn, Beck and Jarvis Cocker.
