Design: Shepard Fairey

Shepard Fairey is a graphic designer/illustrator who first came to recognition with the “Obey – Andre the Giant has a Posse” sticker campaign. Everyone in the world knows him for his Obama “Hope” poster. Primarily a street artist working outside the law, he has illegally pasted up his posters in most major US cities and around the world. I remember seeing his black and white Obey posters all over Seattle years ago. He now shows his work in galleries and museums as well as designing album covers and posters. A great graphic designer w/ a brilliant style. See also “Exit Through the Giftshop” a 5-star documentary by Banksy featuring work by Shepard. As an aside – his father’s name is Strait (according to Wikipedia) – Strait Fairey.
