Style: Rick Genest

Rick Genest (born August 7, 1985)

I see heavily tattooed kids on the street here in Seattle and think, “Man, you ain’t ever getting a job with that huge spider tattooed on your face”. Well Rick Genest is proving me wrong – and more power to him. Rick Genest started  his work at the age of 21 in Montreal Canada and has spent thousands of dollars to complete his total body tattoo. Rick says it’s a tribute to the horror movies he loves and also a statement about the decomposing of the human body – the art of the cadaver. Rick became semi-famous in the Montreal underground but found himself homeless – unable to work. In 2010 a Facebook fan page was created about Rick and was visited by close to 2 million viewers, one of them being Theirry Muglers’ (and Lady Gagas’) primary designer, Nicola Formichetti. By March of 2011 Rick was the face of Mugler and had appeared in the Lady Gaga video “Born This Way”. Rick’s on a role, and you have have to admit, he looks pretty cool.
