Design: Movie Posters from Ghana

In Ghana, where there are no copyright laws, movies are bootlegged and shown around the country in traveling theaters. These beautiful, hand painted posters travel with the films as advertisement, and what advertisement it is. I’d go see these movies all over again if they were a bit closer to these posters. Cujo is no longer a killer St. Bernard but a combination of a Rottweiller and a Cocker Spaniel, Tom Cruise is a vaguely Asian dwarf and I don’t remember Nick Cage in Planet Terror, at all. Sometime copying the original poster, other times going completely ape-shit, these Ghanian (?) artists have created truly memorable and exciting works of art and promotion.
