Design: Shepard Fairey

Shepard Fairey is a graphic designer/illustrator who first came to recognition with the “Obey – Andre the Giant has a Posse” sticker campaign. Everyone in the world knows him for his Obama “Hope” poster. Primarily a street artist working outside the law, he has illegally pasted up his posters in most major US cities and around the world. I remember seeing his black and white Obey posters all over Seattle years ago. He now shows his work in galleries and museums as well as designing album covers and posters. As an aside – his father’s name is Strait (according to Wikipedia) – Strait Fairey.
