A Great Day in Harlem or Harlem 1958 is a group portrait of 57  of the greatest jazz musicians of any era, taken on on 126th Street, between 5th and Madisen Ave. in Harlem, NY.  It is generally acknowledged as the greatest photo in the history of jazz.

Art Kane a freelance photographer working for Esquire  magazine, took the picture around 10 a.m. one day in the summer of 1958.  Esquire published the photo in its January 1959 issue.
