Everyone Loves: Shirley MacLaine

Irma La Douce - 1963

Shirley MacLaine (born Shirley MacLean Beaty, April 24, 1934)

And you thought Shirley was just an old crank new age spiritualist. No sir. Nominated for six Academy Awards, winning for Terms of Endearment, Shirley is cool. Shirley’s first film was Alfred Hitchcock’s The Trouble with Harry in 1955 at the tender age of 21. She went on to star in The Apartment  in 1960 w/ Jack Lemmon and again w/ Jack in 1963’s Irma La Douce as a lovable French prostitute (along w/ Tura Satana). She still acts today and at 67 looks pretty good, though all the past life stuff sort of dims her star for me a bit. All I know was in the late 50’s and early 60’s Shirley was hot and who would have guessed she had stems like that. Oh yeah, and she’s Warren Beaty’s sister – for what that’s worth.
